WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?
During the month of July Asbury’s Church and Society Commission will be collecting school supplies for Quad City area children who may not have basic supplies to begin their school year.
We will be a part of the First Day Fund – Student School Supply Drive which was started several years ago. We will join in their effort to provide supplies to every child in need. Suggested school items are crayons, markers, scissors, glue, glue sticks, pencils, erasers, rulers, folders, spiral notebooks, etc.
Supplies and monetary donations may be taken to the church office during the month of July. Offering envelopes will also be provided in Sunday bulletins during this time for your convenience as well. Please make checks payable to Asbury UMC with “First Day Fund” noted on the memo line.
Please consider donating to this community project – what a great way to help children! Church and Society thanks you for your participation once again!
ASBURY LIBRARY
Due to the necessary budget cuts this year, the Library Committee is seeking donations to help with necessary expenses. Asbury’s Library is one of the largest church libraries in the Conference, with more than 6,600 items including children’s, youth & adult sections with fiction and informational books, CDs, DVDs, etc. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated. You may make your check to Asbury UMC, with “Library” indicated on the memo line. Please be sure to take the opportunity to visit our fine Library and check out books that are of interest to you!

AFGHAN MINISTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP
We now have afghan squares ready to be whip-stitched! You may pick up a bag of squares in the church office, there are 12 afghans that are ready to be assembled. If you need directions, give Brenda a call! It is very easy to do. Of course, you may also continue to help by crocheting or knitting 7x7 inch squares and bringing them to the church office. Feel free to take whatever yarn you like from the basket in the East Narthex. Thank you for your help in this wonderful ministry our church provides to our members and as an outreach to our community.
